Climate Adaption in Gippsland with Dr JessicaReeves - Exploring how Gippsland is adapting to climate change.

Climate change is visible and tangible to all, not the least through skyrocketing insurance premiums. How do Gippsland businesses, industries, agriculture and households need to adapt? What initiatives are underway in Gippsland and elsewhere that we might emulate?

Our guest speaker, Dr Jessica Reeves, lecturer and place-based sustainability science researcher at Federation University, Chruchill, will explore this topic. With a background in geology, she is passionate about the interplay between humans and their environment through time – including recent industrial pollution and long-term human modification of landscapes. She is particularly interested in elevating community voices around environmental stewardship, incorporating multiple ways of knowing place. She teaches and conducts research at the Gippsland Campus of Federation University Australia. (more)
